Job Title: Senior Employee Relations Specialist

Location: Fountain Valley, CA (Onsite with 20% travel as needed)

Employment Type: Temp to Hire

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00 - 5:00

Pay: $35-$40/hr.

We're partnering with a leading automotive organization to hire a Senior Employee Relations Specialist to support a large, multi-state workforce across multiple U.S. locations.

This role will serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, leading workplace investigations, providing employee relations guidance, managing disciplinary actions and terminations, and helping ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct workplace investigations involving employee misconduct, policy violations, performance concerns, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, attendance issues, and other employee relations matters.
  • Partner with managers on employee relations issues, corrective actions, performance management, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.
  • Manage disciplinary processes, terminations, and separations while ensuring consistency, proper documentation, and legal compliance.
  • Prepare investigation reports, disciplinary documentation, case files, and employee relations records.
  • Support employment claims, litigation matters, audits, reporting, and other employee relations initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and audit-ready employee relations documentation.
  • Assist with policy updates, process improvements, training initiatives, and employee relations projects.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of progressive HR and Employee Relations experience.
  • Strong experience conducting workplace investigations from intake through resolution.
  • Experience handling disciplinary actions, performance management, and terminations.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Experience supporting multi-state employee populations.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Spanish bilingual skills are highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience supporting large employee populations (1,200+ employees preferred).

Additional Information

  • Onsite position requiring five days per week in the office.
  • Travel is project-based and may occasionally involve visits to multiple locations.
